I have been a Micfo customer for almost a year now. And, have been sadly watching bad reviews about Micfo for the last couple of weeks. At the same time, I was scared that the service I got would detoriate as well, but guess I was lucky.
First of all, Micfo sent out a very long e-mail recently, telling what their plans are (move to equinix, better hardware, more staff, etc. etc.) ... And, it looks really good! It is pretty clear that they have not been sitting on their back, but trying to correct the problems, and I think the new move they are making will improve their service a lot...
The thing I don't understand about people's comments is that, people still don't know the difference between different service levels. There is one simple rule in the business world, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! I have no idea how they can pay 6-7 dollars a month, and expect the service of a company that charges $30-40.
Micfo, is a budget hosting company, and as such, it is one of the best, in my opinion it is the best in its category. If you want premium quality service, pay more, it is that simple. If you add up the costs, and substract that from what they are getting from their customers, you can not expect more.
As for the service, yes, Micfo has had some problems. And, once again, I want to emphasize what I said before, they showed that they worked hard to fix them. But still, their first level of service has been simply amazing. There are many times that I submitted a ticket, and the issue was resolved in 5 minutes. And, support has always been nice, and they push their limits to help you, even for things that they are not obliged to do, they try to help you.
Regarding next level of support, I am guessing that due to costs, they did not have enough people, hence they were lagging there, which they are saying that they are working on. Furthermore, in the long e-mail they sent, they were saying that, some of the problems that people were complaining about here were because of the datacenter, and that is why they decided to move their servers. And, once again, do not forget what you are paying...
About the service I was getting, I was lucky, and my site has always been very stable and very fast... I had some issues couple of weeks ago, and it was resolved by upgrading the memory on the server I am on.
All in all, I am quite happy with Micfo, and strongly recommend them... And, waiting eagerly for the changes that Amir mentioned to take place.
